One of the newest additions to Brunswick Island golf. Play the North or the South. Angels Trace North is a links course that features large tri-mix undulated greens. Angels Trace South is more traditional with pine-lined fairways. Either way, you can't go wrong with either Angels Trace choice.

This George Cobb design is only reachable by ferry. The ride over to Bald Head is a treat in itself. Hold onto your hat on the ride over, and on the course. Views of the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Fear River are breathtaking. A very demanding, challenging and scenic course. The round trip ferry ride is $15.00, and the car parking fee is $5.00. Well worth the trip!

Brunswick Plantation
Every hole at Brunswick Plantation requires a combination of mental strategy and execution. The 15th hole is always a favorite. It features an island green, accessible by bridge and encircled by oyster shells. Brunswick’s penncross bentgrass greens make downhill putts very delicate. 27 total holes.

The first Fred Couples design in the Carolinas. Located at Winding River Plantation, halfway between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach. This 27 hole course is destined to be one of the finest courses on the Eastern seaboard. Farmstead - A superb Links style course with fast Tifeagle Bermuda greens. Many holes are completely surrounded by marsh grasses 6 to 15 feet high. Part of the course is in NC and part is in SC. Excellent replay option at its sister course, Meadowlands, about 2 miles away. The finishing hole plays 712 yards par 6 with water on your left. The course is underrated with a slope of 135. It is much tougher than this.

Glen Dornoch - One of the newest additions to Myrtle Beach golf. Glen Dornoch is located on the scenic Intracoastal Waterway in Little River. The Tall Oaks Nine has a combination of sand, water and tall trees. The Dogwood Nine is popular with senior players while the Holly Nine is famous for its signature island greens. The Legends Group- Six splendid courses with three under one roof. Try the Heathland, Moorland or Parkland. The Heathland and Moorland have a Scottish flavor that’s unique to American golf. Magnolia Greens
One of the newest additions to Wilmington area golf is located 5 minutes SW of historic downtown on highway 17. A convenient course from any Wilmington area hotel, but it's convenient as well for a golfer that's driving to the Myrtle Beach area. How is this possible? If you're driving from Wilmington, or even from Raleigh to Myrtle Beach you'll pass by Magnolia Greens. Once there, you'll wish you had scheduled Magnolia Greens twice. It's a superb property, new, and a delight to play. The 27 hole course was designed by Tom Jackson. Host course for the 1998 & 1999 PGA Tour first stage Q-School.

The second addition at St. James Plantation is certainly a treat. This Hale Irwin design is "player friendly", especially for the golfer who loves to find wide fairways off the tee. Most new courses tend to lack maturity, this one certainly does not. Chances are you'll have a pretty good score going at the Members Club if you're in control of your game but watch out for the 15th, 16th, and 17th holes. Be content to make par.

One of the newer courses in the Grand Strand area is one of the best, The Thistle. This Tim Cate design has received rave reviews with its wide landing areas, bentgrass greens and elevation changes. If you like playing a links style golf course that will only get better with age, try the Thistle. It's a quality experience.

True Blue  - If you want a difficult course to play while visiting Myrtle Beach, try True Blue. You'll find vast waste areas and incredible elevation changes. True Blue provides a challenge for everyone who comes to play. It's located on a former rice plantation and the scenery is just spectacular. If you want something just as nice, but not quite as hard, try True Blue's sister course, Caledonia.

Wachesaw East -  Home course for an LPGA Tour the past several years. The last LPGA Tour event played at Wachesaw was in June of 2000. There should be even more in the years to come. Wachesaw East is a Clyde Johnston design. It's simply beautiful and situated on a former rice plantation.
